Google Adwords Vs. Facebook Ads

So you have a small advertising budget and are trying to figure out how to get the most bang for your buck. Should you bet your marketing dollars on Google Adwords  the search engine behemoth’s online advertising service? Or would placing a Facebook ad get you closer to your goals?

Facebook also allows advertisers some unique targeting options such as creating a message specifically crafted for fans of Arrested Development, or for college alumni groups.Facebook vs. Google Advertising

Which is better for advertising, Facebook or Google? Check out our Facebook vs. Google Display Advertising infographic.

Our research shows that Google is the better choice for display advertising because it has superior CPC performance, improved ad targeting options, and an enormous array of ad formats that Facebook lacks. Ideally, it's best to try both and discover which fits best with your brand.

Facebook vs. Google Plus: Why Google+ Grows in Value

While Facebook still has the advantage in terms of intimate data concerning favorite movies, books, TV shows, etc for advertisers to use, Google plans on giving Facebook a run for its money with Google+. Google+ allows Google to also collect more personal user data, and with users staying logged in to their Google account as they check email, use Google+, and surf the web, it can be expected that Google’s user data will soon surmount Facebook in terms of value.

As the battle of Facebook vs. Google rages on, it can often be difficult for advertisers to decide where they should focus their attention.

Advertising and creating a brand presence on Facebook has different advantages and requires a different approach than advertising on Google AdWords.

Google AdWords vs. Facebook Ads: Which is Better for your Business?
Ideally, you’ll want to implement both Facebook advertising and Google advertising. While there are a number of similarities between advertising on Facebook and advertising on Google, there are some major differences as well.

Facebook vs. Google Advertising: Similarities

Both Google and Facebook have a massive potential audience, and they both are primarily PPC advertising channels.

Facebook and Google each offer paid advertising models in addition to free online marketing tools like Facebook Fan Pages and Google+ Business Pages. These pages don’t require the marketer to pay, but are still great venues for promoting your brand and products.

The key difference for advertisers to understand between Facebook and Google lies in your purpose—are you trying to promote knowledge of your brand, or sell a specific product?

Facebook vs. Google Advertising: Differences

Facebook sessions usually tend to last much longer than a normal Google search session, which would make Facebook preferred for building brand awareness or sending a specific message.

Google also has the advantage when it comes to web searches, which the search engine giant is known for. Google AdWords is the ideal venue for business looking to drive clicks and conversions for specific products; Google searchers often have a specific intent in mind, while users often go to Facebook simply to hang out and chat with friends.Facebook vs. Google Advertising

Facebook gives businesses a way to connect with users on a social, personal level in and intimate and friendly space, whereas Google is what people use when they are looking for something specific, and often looking to make a purchase.

Facebook's click-through-rates can be as much as 1,000 times lower than Google campaigns with the same intent.

While Facebook offers traditional ad displays, Google ads offer a number of different advertising options such as the Google Display Network. Google AdWords offers geo-targeting and other additional features and functions.

One powerful advertising option that Google offers that Facebook does not is remarketing.

Google remarketing, also known as retargeting, involves showing ads to users based on their past web activity on your site. Remarketing allows advertisers to follow users and show ads to them across Google’s large network of partner sites on the Google Display Network. This pales in comparison to Facebook, whose ads only show up on its own site.

Bottom line: While businesses will definitely want to take advantage of Facebook for developing brand awareness and developing messages for specific niche interests, Google is the venue to focus on for advertising because of its wide array of advertising features and numerous options.

Google+ integration has also enabled Google to begin collecting the same kind of personal data that Facebook has long been coveted for.

Facebook vs. Google Traffic

While Facebook tends to get more traffic than Google+, Google plus is the site to focus on when it comes to driving traffic to your business.facebook vs. google plus traffic

WordStream conducted a Facebook vs. Google Plus research project in which we measured which social media site drove the most traffic to our site. We then illustrated our results in the Social Media Showdown:  Facebook vs. Google+ Infographic.

The results of the Social Media Showdown are as follows:

1st Place: Facebook with 47.26% of visitors
2nd Place: Twitter with 27.51% of visitors
3rd Place: Google+ with 15.42% of visitors
4th Place: LinkedIn with 9.81% of visitors

While Facebook took 1st place for driving traffic to our site, this study was conducted when Google+ was only one month old. With Google+ at this point driving more traffic than LinkedIn, it was clear even then that Google plus was an important social media network to focus on. This was happening when we did not even have a WordStream Google+ page or Google+ buttons on our site!

   Facebook vs. Google+ Privacy
   Facebook default privacy

Privacy online continues to be a growing issue for internet users. How do Facebook and Google compared in terms of privacy? Check out our Internet Privacy Infographic, which compares Facebook vs. Google Plus privacy policies and settings.

Facebook has long been demonized for altering users’ default privacy setting, resulting in users sharing more private information than they initially realized. Google hasn’t fared much better, receiving heavy criticism for combining the separate privacy policies for each of Google’s services into one, all-encompassing new Google privacy policy.

While Google’s new privacy policy doesn’t allow Google to collect more information about users than before, Google is now allowed to do more with that private information collected across different Google services.  While many users are less than thrilled with these developments, the new uses of data are exciting for advertisers, who will be able to use this personal data to create more targeted ads for specific user audiences.

OtterBox Vs. LifeProof

When someone is searching for a new cell phone case, first of all you think about protection for your smartphone, two names allways show up: OtterBox and Lifeproof. Both of them are excellent and recognize brand but it allways can take time deciding which one is best for you.

While neither case is known for their style, they are recognized as some of the most protective cases out there.

Remember this cases are available for other devices, like samsung galaxy family, apple devices, blackberry devices, others.

So, this little review will help you to figure out which case is best for your needs.

OTTERBOX

Otterbox Protective Case

Plenty of parents are familiar with Otterbox cases, which, by the way, come in a variety of styles for Androids, Blackberry phones, and range from a lower protection line to their Defender series, which provides the most all-around coverage–literally. And you’ll know it because it is a hefty case. Indeed, this is a gigantic case. Size and appearance aside, the  Otterbox case is really designed to keep your phone safe from dust, dirt, and the big one, drops.

And while the phone is not waterproof, between the cushioning and the two protective layers and the hard plastic screen cover (which is quite responsive), I’d be okay knowing that if a little juice dropped on it, the phone would be relatively safe. A toilet drop or toss in the pool? Not so much.

If you can live with the huge size and no waterproofing, but want extra protection against the elements (like kids) and drops, go with Otterbox.

It’s also about $40 cheaper than the LifeProof case.

NOTE:

As you know, new cell phone devices are coming with touch ID (use fingerprint to unlock your smartphone), otterbox is making new designs so you can use all feature of your phone.

LIFEPROOF

Lifeproof Waterproof Protective Case

I noticed right away how slim the Lifeproof cases are compared to the Otterbox, but perhaps size doesn’t matter in this case, as it does provide complete, sealed protection against everything from dirt to snow and of course water. That means if you (or your kid) accidentally drop it in a tub, you’re safe.

You will have to test it out yourself; however, to make sure it’s ready for water action, without your phone inside of course. Thankfully, the instructions are clear and easy to follow, and once you have the case on, you can pretty much use your phone completely worry free, a huge bonus for such an expensive gadget. Rafael, a friend of mine has gone in the pool with his phone in his pocket (accidentally) and it’s been totally fine, thanks to the Lifeproof.

And it’s great that you have access to all your ports, which makes it easy to charge or plug in headphones.

Like the Otterbox case, the Lifeproof isn’t necessarily a looker, but it is slimmer than the Otterbox and it’s definitely made for function. Though keep in mind the Lifeproof for iPad really does make the case significantly more bulky–which could impact the case you carry it in.

If you’re willing spend $80 on a Cell Phone case, but want something that’s both sleek and protective against all elements, including water, you want the Lifeproof. Especially if you tend to let your kids use your phone.

NOTE:

Lifeproof instead, as it's a waterproof case you need to know that the touch ID (use fingerprint to unlock your smartphone) will be impossilble, unless you take out the case.

Reduce your Google Ads cost-per-click !

3 ways to reduce your Google Adwords cost-per-click

In our recent article ‘Pay-per-click marketing; What's your Google AdWords Quality Score?’, we explained what the Google Adwords Quality Score is and the factors that affect how high or low it is.

We also explained how high QS doesn't just mean your ad gets a higher position on Google, but you actually pay less each time someone clicks on it.

How to give your Google Quality Score a big boost:

Below are three tips on how to increase your quality score (and hand less money over to Google each time a viewer clicks on your ad!):

Split-test different variations of your advertisement:

1. Split keywords into smaller, more targeted ad groups of about 15-20 related keywords.

2. Create an ad for each keyword group using different descriptive words/calls to action.

3. Turn off ad optimization, monitor your ads, and after a week.

4. Choose the best performing one.

5. Delete the other ads.

Play around with different keyword matching options:

There are 4 different options that determine which Google searches can trigger your ads to appear. They are:

Broad Match:
Allow your ad to be displayed on similar phrases, incorporating any variations of your keywords. E.g. If your keywords were ‘big red car’, your ad could appear on searches like ‘big car’, ‘big red’ and ‘red car’.

Phrase Match:
Only allows your ad to display on searches that match your exact phrase, but will include extra parameters. Using the example above, but as a phrase match would mean that your ad would display when a user searched for ‘big red car’ exactly as well as searches like ‘buy big red car’ and ‘big red car brands’ etc.

Exact Match:
As above, your ad will only be displayed on searches that match the exact phrase, however will not include extra parameters. The searcher must be looking for ‘big red car’ exclusively.

Negative Match:
This will ensure that your ad will not show in any search that includes the term. E.g. adding a –America to the ‘big red car’ search term will mean that any searchers looking for a ‘big red car in America’ will be not see your ad.

By testing different match variations you can work out which one will increase your click throughs and conversions. Alternatively, which one will narrow the search so that you receive more targeted people clicking on your ads.

Pay attention to your landing page:

        1. Ensure that the search keywords match the web page where you send your visitor. There's no point for someone who's clicked on an ad for #big red car# to be taken to a page about ‘small blue cars’.

        2. Make sure your landing page (web page) is optimized using the same keywords you are targeting in your campaign.

Use Google’s free keywords tool to make sure the keywords you are using on the page are considered relevant by Google.

         3. Correct any navigational issues so that the visitors can easily find the information they're after.

The 5 best free games for Android!

BEST ANDROID FREE GAMES

There are thousands of games in the google store, but there are some games that you need to give a try, here I give you a list of 5 recommended games that you can download-free from the google play store!

1) Angry Birds Star Wars II

Here's something unexpected: Rovio created something fun out of Star Wars' prequel trilogy. The sequel to Angry Birds Star Wars improves on that game's design ideas, with branching levels and character packs that let you swap out to try different strategies. And there are collectible toys now, too. Thankfully, you don't need to buy tiny plastic toys to play this sharp sequel.

A Good Match for: Darth Maul fans. ABSW II offers you a chance to play as the evil pigs of the Pork Side. So, if you've ever thought that the titular birds were just too damn angry, here's your chance to get revenge.

Not a Good Match For: Those looking for a lengthy relationship. Dedicated players can zip through the entirety of the story-centric levels in about an hour.

2) Knightmare Tower

Do you know Doodle Jump? Knightmare Tower is a little bit like that, what with the constant jumping and trying to get higher. You can even tilt your tablet to help yourself along, rocking right to move to the right, and left to move to the left. But this game is different and, dare we say, better. You're a knight. You're trying to ascend a tower.

You are trying to fly ever higher by bouncing yourself off of enemies that are flying up from below. The better you attack, the swifter you fly. The ascent is exhilarating, but you'll probably eventually fail. No bother. You're constantly earning new and better abilities that allow you to soar ever higher. Warning: this is a tough game to stop playing.

A Good Match For: More hardcore gamers who are looking for something on their tablet that rewards strategy and reflexes while wrapping it all up in a good bit of monster-slaying and constant leveling up.

Not a Good Match For: Those who want a long-session game. Your ascents in Knightmare Tower won't last long, so even as games get a bit longer, this one is going to be over quite quickly again and again.

3) Plants Vs. Zombies

The cartoony garden-defense blockbuster soars on smartphones thanks to touch inputs and a port that sacrifices very little from other versions of the game. Put your battery on notice.

A Good Match for: Urban gardeners. PvZ's all about cultivating flora to stave off hordes of the undead, something that anyone trying to grow tomatoes in a windowsill planter can probably relate to. Those would-be farmers probably need a bit of digital payback.

Not a Good Match For: Those looking for top-down tower defense. PvZ doesn't deliver the general's-eye view of the battlefield that you get in games like Fieldrunners, so you may not feel quite as god-like when killing zombies.

Purchase From: Google Play

4) Rayman Fiesta Run

We wouldn't have predicted that the Rayman series, with its precision platforming and complicated level design, would have been a great fit for touchscreen devices. Yet Rayman Jungle Run proved that the series was just that, and its sequel, Fiesta Run,only refined and improved the formula. It'll have you chasing Lums until your intended bus stop is a thing of the past.

A Good Match For: Obsessives, perfectionists, people who like cartoons.

Not a Good Match For: Intolerant people who require their video game protagonists to have arms and legs.

5) The Room Two

"You're tearing me apart, Lisa!"

Oh… wrong The Room? Okay. Well. Um.

If the many whirring, gear-laden puzzleboxes of The Room Two could be made real, we'd gladly decorate our houses with them. Fireproof's Room games seem custom made for a tablet's touch screen, letting you easily flick and zoom your way around its many intricate contraptions. Come for the often vexing puzzles, stay for the weird atmosphere and increasingly creepy ambience. Okay, guy with no face. I'll solve the puzzle if you really want me to.

A Good Match For: Puzzle maniacs, Myst fans, collectors, machinists, occultists.

Not a Good Match For: The easily frustrated, people looking for an action game, those who would rather Lisa didn't tear them apart.

One feature Apple must copy from BlackBerry OS 10

One feature Apple must copy from BlackBerry OS 10

Do you own a BlackBerry? Of course you don't. Nobody's owned a BlackBerry since 2009 or so, but despite that I decided to pick up the BlackBerry Classic to replace my HTC One M8 as my non-iOS phone and I actually don't hate it.

With its multitouch screen it's a lot like a cross between iOS and Android, but it happens to have a feature than neither of those two much more popular options have out of the box, and I love it. I was sorting the bounty of stock apps that came on the device when I realized I had create two folders by accident.

If I were on my iPhone, correcting this mistake would mean taking all the apps out of one folder and putting them into the other one, one at a time. I was prepared to do just that, but first I decided to just toss one of the folder icons on top of the other, expecting it to push the other folder out of the way and leave both folders intact -- as it would on iOS and Android. To my astonishment, BlackBerry OS 10 has a built-in "Merge Folders" feature.

How on earth does BlackBerry -- the company that is literally gasping for breath while Apple and Google casually erase them from the history books -- have a better handle on app management than its competitors? Apple, it's time to fix this.

The best games for apple device!

Armor Hybrid Case

Manipulate the fabric of time with TimeCube

Had enough Candy Crush and looking for something new to play on your iPhone? We rounded up some favorites worth a download this week. Have fun!

Looney Tunes Dash!

For those who loved Space Jam in the 90s, or who grew up watching the originalLooney Tunes, or even for children whose parents seem oddly attached to cartoon animals, Looney Tunes Dash! is a brilliant way to relive the very best parts of childhood.

The goal of Dash is to run through levels playing as your favorite characters, completing missions, and unlocking even more of your favorite cartoon memories. It’s a charming and well-designed game that works on levels beyond simple nostalgia.

Looney Tunes Dash! is free in the App Store.

Poo Flingers

With all the charm of something called Poo Flingers, you wouldn’t expect a game that’s so much fun to play. Train an army of poo-flinging monkeys and attack enemy fleets with feces. Hit your foes with poo to knock them off pegs in the jungle to defeat them. Choose from a variety of weapons and powerups in order to strengthen your monkeys.
Think Plants vs. Zombies but with monkeys in trees and, well, poo.

Poo Flingers is $1.99 in the App Store.

Squares

A lot like the much-loved game Simon, Squares is based on players’ ability to react and detect which square is different on a screen of nearly-identical squares. The goal is simple: tap the different square. However, the display can be customized with different colors as the challenge of hitting the right square increases. This heavily addicting game can be played more or less on an infinite loop.

Squares is free in the App Store.

Brothers in Arms 3: Sons of War

For those who still miss the original Call of Duty and the old Medal of Honor series, Brothers in Arms 3 is a fine fill-in. A WW2 shooter in which players cycle between an arsenal of classic weapons as you shoot at Nazis and duck for cover, Brothers in Arms lets you take your platoon into enemy territory and call in airstrikes or mortar fire so you can complete your mission.

TimeCube

Perhaps one day we will be able to slip through a wormhole, but until then we can sit on the subway and play TimeCube on our iPhones. You don’t control your character, but you control the time around it. Learning how to manipulate gameplay time will allow you to navigate obstacles and opponents. Gamplay is not complex, but the idea is entertaining enough on its own to keep you playing.

TimeCube is free in the App Store.
